"Despite the considerable challenges that ClimateWise members have faced, from a variety of external economic, regulatory and natural catastrophe pressures, members continue to demonstrate their commitment to the ClimateWise initiative, as evidenced by the reporting of activity across the Principles in 2011."
This is the conclusion of the fourth independent review of the actions taken by ClimateWise, to enact their own voluntary commitments on climate change.
The independent review was carried out this year by PwC and launched at an event in the City of London on 21 November 2011 attended by representatives from across the industry, clients and key stakeholder groups.

Highlights from the ClimateWise Fourth Annual Summit
John Coomber, Swiss Re Board Member and Chairman of ClimateWise, said: "Insurers everywhere should be using our industry's core expertise to better understand and communicate the risks climate change poses to our economic and social systems and to forge and promote solutions to bring those risks down to an acceptable level. This independent review demonstrates that insurers across the world are indeed actively playing this role in a variety of ways."
