Climate risk research sharing event: May 21st

We are pleased to announce a collaborative event between ClimateWise and the Lighthill Risk Network to explore recent research about changing climate risk and how this affects the (re)insurance industry.

This event provides an opportunity for leading climate risk experts to share knowledge in this field with professionals in the (re)insurance industry, policy makers, academics and wider society and explain the potential issues for their business in the immediate future and beyond.

Topics include:

  • Preventing and responding to flood risk: surface water adaptation and resilient repairs
  • Climate resilience - an underwriter’s perspective
  • Changing the way we think about flood preparation - Flood Plan UK
  • International instruments for adapting to climate risks under the UNFCCC
  • Managing insurability in a changing climate
  • Insuring forestry and climate risks
  • Climate Change and security: risks and opportunities for businesses

Full details of the conference - which will be held in the Great Hall at the Chartered Insurance Institute - can be found here and we welcome registrants from across the industry and beyond.
